Description

This is the most popular nano catfish in the hobby presently and gazing upon their adorable faces, it is easy to see why their popularity has only increased over time. These completely peaceful Panda Cory Catfish come from South America (to be exact, they come from Peru’s Ucayali river system which is the main headwater of the Amazon River) and spend most of their time in cooler water. Indeed, they were ‘discovered’ in blackwater conditions so they will favor mildly acidic conditions and don’t enjoy lots of water current. These tiny nano catfish are colored just like little Panda bears, hence their common name ‘Panda Cory’. They readily accept all kinds of food such as flakes, fresh and frozen food (especially worms) and enjoy pellets too. These fish ship individually bagged, one fish per bag. Approximately 1 to 1.25 inches each.

WOW! The best Panda Cories I've gotten!

I've kept a "troupe" of Panda Cory cats in our living room "display tank" in our house for (goodness, has it been that long?) well ,,,, two decades, at least. They are hubby's favorite! I've found these fish to be remarkably long lived, and even had a baby appear in the community tank (hubby immediately named him "Ling Ling"). And of course I've had to replace fish here and there over the years, but I've noticed a worrisome change in the quality of panda cory cats available recently. In the last year, I've purchased two sets of 3 fish, from two different and highly reputable LFS near me, and had 2 of the 3 die out of each batch. They just seem.... weak. So, I wanted to get some sourced by Red Fish Blue Fish. and I am SO VERY glad I did! WOW, these guys came in surprisingly well grown and feisty! I broke my own rule (bad Jane!) and after a short but careful 2-day QT, added them to our remaining group. They integrated immediately, colored up within minutes, and joined our gang bustling around happily. I was really impressed with the size of these guys, and they arrived in excellent shape! The QUALITY of these fish is impressive, and they were obviously well cared for while in the care of RFBF. It sounds corny, but I'm actually relieved to find such excellent healthy Pandas - our LR tank just wouldn't be the same without a good sized group jockeying for position around the blackworm pellets!
