High in the misty hills of Myanmar lies the legendary Inle Lake, a vast floating world of stilted villages, drifting gardens, and calm amber waters. It is here that the enchanting Lake Inle Rummynose Rasbora, Sawbwa resplendens, glint like scattered drops of light beneath the surface. Their slender silver blue bodies flash with a soft metallic glow and their ruby tipped noses and tails create a vivid spark of color that stands out even in heavily planted aquariums. Keeping this species allows you to bring a genuine piece of Lake Inle into your home, a living reflection of a serene cultural landscape built entirely around water.

Graceful and full of life, the Lake Inle Rummynose Rasbora has become a favorite among aquarists who value rarity, elegance, and constant activity. Their smooth synchronized motion adds rhythm, depth, and refinement to any planted setup and their metallic shimmer catches light in a way that gives a tank a quiet sense of luxury. They are gentle, social, and always in motion which makes them ideal for community aquariums that rely on peaceful interaction and visual cohesion.

The Lake Inle Rummynose Rasbora, also known as the Naked Rasbora or the Asian Rummynose Rasbora, is a peaceful silver bodied species native to the unique and threatened waters of Inle Lake in Myanmar. These small schooling fish grow to about one point four inches or three point five centimeters and are especially striking in mature planted tanks. Males display iridescent silver blue coloration with red highlights on the snout and tail lobes while females show a softer tone with a small dark spot near the anus. They thrive in clean slow moving water and benefit from dark or natural substrates that enhance their colors. Because they are a true shoaling species they should be kept in groups of at least six to eight with a higher proportion of females to reduce male competition. Sawbwa resplendens are omnivores that readily accept high quality flakes, tiny sinking micro pellets, and small live foods such as baby brine shrimp. These fish do not ship individually bagged.
