Macmaster's Dwarf Cichlid is an amazing and colorful Apistogramma which many aquarists find rewarding and among the easier Apistogramma to breed in captivity. This is a true dwarf cichlid in the tribe Geophagini, one of the tribes of the subfamily of American cichlids, 'Cichlinae'. It is a freshwater fish that is native to the Meta River system, a part of the Orinoco basin in Colombia. The fish on offer here are of a well known and coveted strain, and are from the so-called Red-Shouldered variety of Macmasteri Dwarf Cichlid. The males that we have on offer have rather large "red shoulder" areas which extend approximately halfway down the fish's flanks; other dealers are selling these fish as the "Super Red Shoulder" variety of Macmasteri. This fish ships individually bagged, one fish per bag.
