Description
These nanofish are from the family 'Nothobranchiidae' and are an African rivuline. Males and females are both brightly colored, with size being the main distinguishing factor between them; bands of dusky black and yellowish-orange puncturate these tiny fish which are native to fresh water habitats of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone in West Africa. It has been reported these fish have spread slightly outside of their traditional native areas, perhaps a sign of these little fellows' resilience.
They readily accept fish flakes, live food, frozen food and other typical commercial fish treats so long as the food is small, since these fish are true nano fish. Males often posture with each other and sometimes give chase in fits of bravado, but they rarely actually make physical contact each other (being more lover and less fighter, apparently).
